What a week of World Cup 2014 action!
Right now, drink picks are 11 and 12 out of the matches thus far (not bad, especially since a few of my picks I said could be a tie)).
Gotta get my average a little higher, and with the next round coming soon, I am sure it will since we will have a whole new round of cocktails! More drinks, more picks, more fun!
For today, we have one of my favorite teams, Italia, going up against Costa Rica!
I realize right now at the time of this writing (thursday) that I only have my twin picks drink (Uruguay Refresher Medio and Costa Rican Cooler), so I should make another, but I’ve already had 2 Martini’s and 3 glasses of Sangria and gotta get up early tomorrow, so, I’ll pass on making one at this moment.
Back to the picks – this is close, for me, because these drinks are both so good (Make them!) and you will definitely have a hard time picking one of these over the other.
I go with Italia AGAIN! (Call biased all you want).
Next up we have France vs France Light…..I mean Switzerland.
This match-up, I like Switzerland again – just tastes good and, well, Sidecar probably should be retired for France’s drink (can anyone say French 75 next round?…if they make it). The Swiss Alps Cocktail holds it’s own, being a Cognac based drink no less it does well against the SideCar here. Close your eyes and see the neutrality.
Lastly we have Honduras vs Ecuador.
These two drinks have LOST in matches against others – Rum Hunter and Happy Japa. I really think that this is a true contest of match-ups with drink styles: pick your Tropical choice. For me I still stick with Happy Japa, as it is more the little engine that could, and tastes good on it’s own. I fear that because of the drink size, that it could burn out quick, and well, that could be bad if translating to the actual soccer/futbol match.
Happy Friday, Happy weekend coming, Happy more World Cup 2014 Matches.
